Vacation Plan

What do you need to do, if you want to overcome fear of flying by planes? We understand your mortal fear of traveling by air and we’ll try to help you.

If the mere thought of flying turns you up we’ll try to give you instructions how to behave before and during the flight. The basic idea is extremely simple; it is the Carlson’s motto: «be quiet, only be quiet».

So, there are ten simple rules, which will help you to overcome fear of flying.

1. Mind you’re not late. It is better to arrive as early as possible, don’t aggravate your nervous and stressed condition, hurrying up to the airport.

2. Come on board and take a seat as close to a snoot as possible. Reserving a ticket, ask a front-mounted seat. Noise level is lower in this part of the cabin and can’t get on your nerves.

3. Don’t pin your hopes on sedatives. Even strong sedative drugs having calming effect are not capable to remove your fear for a long time. Probably, it is a good solution for one-time flight, but for those who are obliged to fly often, it is not the way out.

4. Abstain from alcohol. Don’t expect that your phobia will vanish into vine, in a stressful situation the effect of alcohol will most probably reverse and your apprehensions can assume enormous proportions. Besides, only a clear thinking person can take over the control of a situation.

5. Drink water. Coffee and tea have a diaphoretic effect, and can also cause a rapid beating of the heart that, certainly, will not make you quieter. Drink water or juice, it is better.

6. Meditate. This method of self-reassuring has a reputation as very effective medicine against fear. Sometimes concentrating on observation of your breath is of great help.

7. Communicate with somebody. Just have a chat about all kinds of things with a neighbour. Even if you exchange just a few words about weather and a view from a window, this will help you to forget about fear.

8. Be in the swim. Be abreast of situations in the various airports, read the news of airlines. Knowledge is the best weapon against fear.

9. Have no scruple in asking to help. Talk about your problem with one of flight attendants, they will give you all the help they can.

10. Keep presence of mind; don’t get into a flat spin. There is no reason to be nervous, if you hear suspicious sounds. Absence of a smile on the face of the stewardess does not mean that she already knows that you must all die. So, whatever you do, don’t push the panic button. Even when you see, that the whole staff got into a flap, it can be a sign of lunchtime.

Now real life is teaching us how to get frugal. But this does not mean that we need to get worse stuff. And last minute vacation deals is a perfect example. Using the last minute vacation deals you can receive really great traveling experience for a fraction of a cost.

Vacation With Family

When we go to another town or country, we are always having a dilemma. How to choose a hotel, which will satisfy all our requirements? We will teach you.

Every level of comfort in the hotel guarantees its minimum set of conveniences putted at tourist’s disposal. One-star hotel (hotels of economy class) in Europe and USA is usually a small house (there are no more than ten tiny rooms in it) with facilities on the floor, no meals (European plan) but you can get breakfast, if you pay additional money.

The following category of hotels is a tourist class (two stars). They are popular with those who like bus tourism. There is a bathroom and TV in rooms of such hotels, restaurant can be on the floor, visitors are supposed to receive light “continental” breakfast: a bun, juice and coffee in the morning.

Three-star hotels are the most popular. It is some kind of a golden medium between the limited budget and rather high level of comfort. A bathroom, a phone, a TV, cleaner’s services, in most cases there is an air-conditioner and a minibar. You can choose different systems of service: “bed and breakfast”, “demi-pension” (breakfast and supper) or “American plan” (three meals a day) in hotel’s restaurant. American three-star hotels are not worse than four-star hotels in Europe.

Four-star hotels are always well located (it can be the city centre or the seaside in a health-resort zone). You can also expect to receive an air-conditioner, a minibar, a minisafe, a phone, a TV, a bath, a shower, a toilet set, and a hairdryer in your room, pair of restaurants or cafes, free sports and fitness and a spa-complex, a business centre, a parking place under surveillance and a hall porter besides standard services.

But don’t think that four-star hotel guarantees you high level of rest. If you find in the Internet a four-star hotel in Paris, which is completely corresponding to declared level, pay heed to its location, it can be located, for example, in the Arab, Jewish or Chinese quarter. As a result, the client will be dissatisfied. In Arab quarter somebody can steal your bag without ceremony, and in Jewish quarter you will be surrounded by restaurants with specific kosher meal.

In the most expensive five-star swanky hotels, you can get everything as in four-star, but multiplied by two. Actually, it is an independent small town with highly developed infrastructure and perfectly adjusted service. Among offered rooms there is Executive Room, with a sleeping and working zone, where there is a fax and the Internet connection; Junior Suite, including a bedroom and a lounge, and Suite, which looks like perfectly furnished small apartment with a bathroom, a shower and two washbowls. Rooms Deluxe Suite and Excellence Suite, with huge room spaces, terraces and Jacuzzi, are second only to royal (King Suite) and presidential (Presidential Suite) rooms.

Today real life is showing us how to get frugal. But this does not mean that we need to get lower quality stuff. And last minute vacation deals is one of the examples. With the help of last minute vacation deals you can receive really great vacation experience for a fraction of a cost.

Vacation Plan

If you are going to a foreign country, the first difficulty, which you must tackle, is salutation. Do you know how many traps you can fall into?

In many countries such part of the body as head is emphasized. In the countries where the basic religion is Buddhism, and also in many countries of Southern Asia the head is considered to be a receptacle of a soul. Don’t try to pat children on the head in Thailand. If you hear “The head is sacred, do not touch it!” and do not have troubles with child’s parents, it means that you are well out of this situation.

In the Mediterranean region, relatives, friends and even total strangers usually swap kisses on the cheek. Polynesians in Maori (New Zealand) continue tradition of saluting each other with rubbing their noses. This greeting is called hongi.

In Spain, people shake hands more often, than kiss, that’s why it is important for you to know this, if you don’t want to make faux pas. If you go to Russia, we recommend you to follow only one rule: do not shake hands “across the threshold”, because this can entail serious conflict. Many are of the opinion that this can cause a disaster.

In the countries of Middle East and Southern Asia, and also in some parts of Africa, the left hand is assigned for hygienic sanitary procedures. That’s why tourist should not touch goods, products and people with his left hand. In India this veto is put upon all religious actions. Besides, Indians accept gifts only with their right hand. For Moslems eating with the right hand is a rule not only for reasons of cleanliness: in one of the surahs of the Koran it is said that “Satan eats and drinks with the left hand”.

If the tradition of hand shake, as the story goes, arose after situation, when partners wanted to assure each other, that one of them does not hide the weapon in his hand, custom of looking each other in the face during proposing a toast appeared thanks to poisoners. So, if deliberate criminal added some toxic substance in a drink, it is hardly probable, that he would look, how his victim drinks poisoned liquid. Some cultures get further. In many European countries man proves his sincerity, looking into the eyes of everyone, with whom he clinks glasses during drinking toasts. When you sit at a big table in the midst of your friends, this process can take long, but it is obligatory for all.

So, if you don’t want to overstrain your neck, setting your face to every drinking companion, try not to be enthusiastic in proposing long toasts. And remember, that in any risky situation heartfelt smile is your concealed weapon; you are a foreigner and cannot know everything.

Now real life is showing us how to get frugal. But this does not imply that we need to get lower quality stuff. And last minute vacation deals is one of the examples. With the help of last minute vacation deals you can get really great vacation experience for a fraction of a cost.

Best Vacation Deals

If you are worldly-wise tourist, of course, you know that there are so many preposterous customs in different countries, and if you don’t like it, it’s open to you to lump it. So, as the saying puts it, forewarned is forearmed. We would be more than happy to help you, follow our advices and let’s begin!

Chinese easily allow themselves to cough up phlegm and pick their nose in public places, but transpacific – in South Korea – people keep vigilant watch on their phlegm in their noses and spittle. Even if you have an attack of sneezing at the table, it will transform you into barbarian in the eyes of Koreans. Foreigners can fall into a trap, whose palate can be unadapted for a ubiquitous piquant sauce “gochujang”. However, if you feel approaching of this “shameful” reaction during a dinner, make excuses, and then quickly make off to a bathroom. In Japan, using hanky in public places is also considered as the lack of culture.

For many Chinese and Koreans using chopsticks is simple manipulation “from a plate to a mouth”. Chopsticks are unappropriate, for example, for picking. But however the biggest false step foreigners can take, if stick chopsticks vertically, for example, in a bowl with rice. In this case it looks like incense sticks, which they light, when they want to honour deceaseds and doing like that you “will call death to a dining table”.

No less important is the question of saying “good-bye” to the new friends. In Arab countries and in South Asia thanking to the master of the house is equivalent to an insult. These customs, of course, run counter to western good breeding implant words “thanks” and “please” almost since the day of birth. But in these countries making preparations for visitors and possibility to show hospitality is a big pleasure for local residents and it is considered the privilege. That’s why they should thank you, if you visit them.

We appreciate your difficulty and should say that, there is no necessity to get rid of these words absolutely, simply be more reserved. If you said “thank you”, don’t apologize for what you’ve said, because you’ll make it worse. If you didn’t hear habitual “don’t mention it” and read dissatisfaction in master’s face, don’t stick at small difficulties, but keep detached air.

That tourists who visit Arab countries and countries of Middle East for the first time, are often surprised by close physical contact between members of the stronger sex. Arabians can walk arm in arm with each other. But this is just a sign of blood relationship and does not mean any sexual relations. So, if your Moroccan friend takes your arm on the way to afternoon tea, try to look nonchalant.

Surely last minute vacation deals can save tons of money. But you must be aware of the fact that last minute vacation deals together with their strong points also have their disadvantages.
